More Pictures

Garrett has discovered his favorite toy. He is starting to grip toys and put things in his mouth. He is officially 3 months old, can you believe it? He is getting bigger and amazing us each day. He has started to reach for his toys and you can tell he is enjoying the textures. He is smiling and laughing more and more each day. We had a great week at his new school. Ms. Mary one of his teachers said that he was flirting with Lilly (one of his classmates, she is an older woman, 4 months). I guess his Daddy like younger women and he likes older women. Anyways, she said it was funny to watch because they were talking and laughing at each other all day long. We actually really like his new school, the teachers are great and the class is never as full because not all the babies come every day. Anyways, here are some recent pictures that we liked.

Getting Bigger, not me but the little one!

Wow a lot can happen in a few days. On Thursday, Valentine's Day we took Garrett for his two month check-up (if you are wondering the Doctors office was a little late, he is almost three months) Anyways, he has definitely packed on the pounds. He now weighs 14 lbs 14 oz and is 24.5 inches long. Can you believe it? He has almost doubled in size since he was born. The Doctor was very pleased with his progress and said that we will probably start him on cereals and baby food after our next check up. Then he will really be a big boy.

On another note, on Saturday we discovered that there was a small scandal happening at our daycare. Did I say small, I mean BIG, all over the news big. One of the employees was accused of touching a 4 year old little girl. With this news and no word from our daycare themselves; we decided that Garrett would not be going back. Even though he only spent one week there. Today I woke up early and started calling everyone to find a new location. Amazingly, I was successful. I am super excited about the place we found and cannot wait for him to start later this week. It is small, much closer to both of our jobs, a Christian school that teaches them about values and works to build their educational foundation. And so much more. With the recent events Bill and I were both even more inquisitive when it came to getting to know the people we would be leaving our child with and the school itself. I feel even better about bringing Garrett to the new daycare and look forward to many more positive progress reports. I am also excited because I can take him to school too and not drive half way across town. YEAH!!!! Out of the storm comes calm.

P.S. We are all starting to feel better. Big YEAH!!!! Back to work we go.

Well a lot has happened in the last week and a half. I went back to work last Monday. That was a difficult day to say the least, many tears on my part. Bill went to check on Garrett every day at lunch. He will be taking him and picking him up each day since it is close to his work. Garrett did great though; he had fun playing in the bouncer and even got to sit in the jumper. Bill said that he just smiled and had a lot of fun standing on his own; he has not yet realized that he can jump yet. The teachers even sent home a note the first couple of days saying how good he was. Most of the time he just slept and ate. Overall, the week went well. It will take some time to get back into the swing of things at work, but it will come.

This week has been a wonderful experience...not. Friday afternoon I came home with a sore throat. Saturday morning I had a horrible cough and sounded like a man. I was officially sick. I went to a walk in clinic, because I knew it would get worse quick. Thankfully I started some medicine on Sunday, but it has yet to start to work. Garrett has a nice runny nose and is now coughing. Have you ever taken care of a sick baby? It is not fun. There is not much you can do but we are trying everything that we have read. On Monday, Bill ended up with a sore throat and by that night he had a bad cough. Needless to say we have all been home sick all week. Hopefully we will be better by Friday, because we have tickets to go see the Broadway show, Moving Out. Anyways, we have been spending some quality time coughing, sitting up late at night with Garrett and using the entire tissue stock that we had in our house. Wish us luck in getting better.

Oh here are some pictures that we took before Garrett got sick. He had a lot of fun playing with his new activity center. He gets more and more fun each day, with smiles and his attention to the toys in front of him. He even watched his Little Einstein video today and he loved it.
