Hello everyone, Sorry long time no post. With the end of the semester fast approaching things have been a little busy. Not to mention Leslee is now in Oregon so things have been even busier and one of my best friends here is gone. Booo. Anyways, the busy month is upon us and with late evenings at work Bill has been the one to stay at home with Garrett when I am working late.
Anyways, Garrett is doing well. We finally got him over being sick and now I think spring is kicking in. He is a little congested again. My mom told me welcome to Daycare when I told her that I thought he may be getting sick again. Yuck. This time is not as bad though, or at least we haven't gotten there yet. In case you didn't read the blog Garrett is rolling over and holding his head up. We have had a lot of new experiences with him now. Our newest favorite, he is going to be like is Momma, Garrett has found his thumb and has started to suck on it when he can't find his Binky. It is really cute because it is not really big enough to fill his mouth so he really just chews on it. Ms. Mary and Ms. Liz from the Garrett's school have given him a nickname, GarBear! I think it is cute, but Bill was like, that is how people are going to start calling him Garry. We don't want that. Each day that we pick him up they always tell us how good he is and rave about the things he does. We have definitely found a great school for him. We are so much happier here than the last place.
Oh, I almost forgot. We attempted solid foods last week. We are now mixing a small amount of just rice cereal and putting it in the bottle. It must be super thick, but we only woke up one time when we fed it to him. Hallelujah!!!!! We will take only getting up once to the 5 times that we have been doing lately. Cross your fingers that this continues. While we tried this we also gave him a small taste of the pudding that I was eating, Chocolate. He enjoyed it, but I think he like the Rice Cereal better. Here are some pictures.
Ok, so Bill has been making over a 1974 VW Beetle for three years now. Last Saturday he finally got to drive it again. He has completely refurbished the BUG!!!! We are very proud, he did a lot of the body work himself and wired the car too. He had it repainted and dropped it off to his mechanic about two weeks ago. Since he was going to be able to drive the Bug now he sold his Bronco. He listed in on Craigslist and it sold in less than 24 hours, almost too quick for the bug as it wasn't ready for another week, opps. Today, he is going to take me out to learn how to drive it too. I do not know how to drive a standard. Seeing that the last time I tried to learn my Dad had to replace the clutch, I am a little nervous and excited. Anyways, Here are some pictures you can judge for yourself as to the job he did.
Garrett had his Green on for St. Patrick's Day and he loved it!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'
On Thursday morning Bill woke me up screeming, "He rolled over!!!! Twice!" I guess in the early morning hours Garrett decided to show his Daddy his skills. Garrett rolled from his belly to his back two times in a row. We thought it might not happen again because when we tried to re-create it, no rollin'. This afternoon however, he showed his skills to his Mommy and his Daddy. He reached out for one of his toys and rolled to his back. It was so exciting.
Oh, we think he may be starting to teeth. Garrett is drooling like no other and is not his usual happy self. He if finally starting to get better from the congestion and now he may be teething, yuck. We have had our fare share of being sick. In case you did not know we had to take him to the hospital last weekend, because he was so congested and was breathing really heavy. We spent Friday night in the hospital with Garrett on oxygen and getting breathing treatments. Thankfully the doctors said that they were not doing anything that we couldn't do at home. So they released us less than 24 hours later. This week we discovered one of the best inventions ever, an electric nasal aspirator. It surely beats the bulb and holding him down for ten minutes screaming just to get the snot out of his nose.
In case you couldn't tell it has been a busy few weeks, hense the no blogging. To top off the sickness and all the action. My friend and co-worker Leslee made her move to Oregon this weekend. I am really going to miss her. She and Mike have been great friends to us and we will miss them greatly. Well for now, my social life will not be as active and my work schedule will be busier.

More Pictures
Garrett has discovered his favorite toy. He is starting to grip toys and put things in his mouth. He is officially 3 months old, can you believe it? He is getting bigger and amazing us each day. He has started to reach for his toys and you can tell he is enjoying the textures. He is smiling and laughing more and more each day. We had a great week at his new school. Ms. Mary one of his teachers said that he was flirting with Lilly (one of his classmates, she is an older woman, 4 months). I guess his Daddy like younger women and he likes older women. Anyways, she said it was funny to watch because they were talking and laughing at each other all day long. We actually really like his new school, the teachers are great and the class is never as full because not all the babies come every day. Anyways, here are some recent pictures that we liked.

Getting Bigger, not me but the little one!
Wow a lot can happen in a few days. On Thursday, Valentine's Day we took Garrett for his two month check-up (if you are wondering the Doctors office was a little late, he is almost three months) Anyways, he has definitely packed on the pounds. He now weighs 14 lbs 14 oz and is 24.5 inches long. Can you believe it? He has almost doubled in size since he was born. The Doctor was very pleased with his progress and said that we will probably start him on cereals and baby food after our next check up. Then he will really be a big boy.
On another note, on Saturday we discovered that there was a small scandal happening at our daycare. Did I say small, I mean BIG, all over the news big. One of the employees was accused of touching a 4 year old little girl. With this news and no word from our daycare themselves; we decided that Garrett would not be going back. Even though he only spent one week there. Today I woke up early and started calling everyone to find a new location. Amazingly, I was successful. I am super excited about the place we found and cannot wait for him to start later this week. It is small, much closer to both of our jobs, a Christian school that teaches them about values and works to build their educational foundation. And so much more. With the recent events Bill and I were both even more inquisitive when it came to getting to know the people we would be leaving our child with and the school itself. I feel even better about bringing Garrett to the new daycare and look forward to many more positive progress reports. I am also excited because I can take him to school too and not drive half way across town. YEAH!!!! Out of the storm comes calm.
P.S. We are all starting to feel better. Big YEAH!!!! Back to work we go.

Well a lot has happened in the last week and a half. I went back to work last Monday. That was a difficult day to say the least, many tears on my part. Bill went to check on Garrett every day at lunch. He will be taking him and picking him up each day since it is close to his work. Garrett did great though; he had fun playing in the bouncer and even got to sit in the jumper. Bill said that he just smiled and had a lot of fun standing on his own; he has not yet realized that he can jump yet. The teachers even sent home a note the first couple of days saying how good he was. Most of the time he just slept and ate. Overall, the week went well. It will take some time to get back into the swing of things at work, but it will come.
This week has been a wonderful experience...not. Friday afternoon I came home with a sore throat. Saturday morning I had a horrible cough and sounded like a man. I was officially sick. I went to a walk in clinic, because I knew it would get worse quick. Thankfully I started some medicine on Sunday, but it has yet to start to work. Garrett has a nice runny nose and is now coughing. Have you ever taken care of a sick baby? It is not fun. There is not much you can do but we are trying everything that we have read. On Monday, Bill ended up with a sore throat and by that night he had a bad cough. Needless to say we have all been home sick all week. Hopefully we will be better by Friday, because we have tickets to go see the Broadway show, Moving Out. Anyways, we have been spending some quality time coughing, sitting up late at night with Garrett and using the entire tissue stock that we had in our house. Wish us luck in getting better.
Oh here are some pictures that we took before Garrett got sick. He had a lot of fun playing with his new activity center. He gets more and more fun each day, with smiles and his attention to the toys in front of him. He even watched his Little Einstein video today and he loved it.
